Elvis and Nixon concerns the one time meeting between Elvis Presley and the pre-Watergate President Richard M. Nixon. The meeting happened in 1970, however was not freely known until 1972. Photographs exist. Presley’s hand in Nixon’s, secured a firm handshake; banners remained behind the two and Presely’s gold International Championship belt and wavy-cleared hair by one means or another showed more power than the Oval Office could in his nearness (i.e. party in the front, business in the back). One specific picture is the most asked for photograph in the historical backdrop of the National Archives.
The general population enthusiasm for the photograph has more to do with two men who had supreme force in various domains, on the grounds that those domains appear to be so separate they’d never appear to converge.
