This first film by director Nacer Khemir, who introduced Tunisian cinema to the world, tells the story of a quest. An old bus is bouncing under a vast sky, almost invisible. Among the passengers are a young teacher assigned to the most remote town of this strange desert. In the middle of the desert silence, suddenly the deep and monotone echoes of a song ring. This is a song of the Andalusian song that resembles a call from the canvas. Then, in a dream, figures emerge that resemble sculptures made of salt. These are desert travelers.
